Weather-Based Shopping Tips for Bremen

Spring (March-May)

Bremen's "Schietwetter" (crappy weather) in spring requires a good raincoat. You can find stylish models in the boutiques of the "Viertel," the city's alternative and creative heart. Summer (June-August)

Summers in Bremen are mild and ideal for strolling. Look for maritime fashion in the shops near the Weser promenade, Schlachte. The "Viertel" is also the hotspot for individual fashion and vintage finds in summer. On a rainy summer day, the Waterfront, a large shopping center right on the Weser, offers a good alternative. Winter in Bremen is cold and windy. The "Schlachte-Zauber," a medieval Christmas market on the Weser, is a unique experience. Here you can enjoy handmade goods and warming drinks. For regular shopping, Galeria Kaufhof and other large stores in the city center are the best places to go. In the winter sales after Christmas, you can find high-quality "Friesennerze" (classic yellow raincoats) and wool sweaters at good prices.
